As communities struggle to understand how to engage
gentrification, this initiative will use three diverse artists as mediums of learning
new ways to express, interact, and engage communication within the entire
community.
Once labeled one of America’s top most dangerous neighborhoods in the early 2000s - ravaged by crime, drugs and prostitution.
This historic Lockwood home served as a cornerstone safe haven for the transient population.

provide a place for all to enjoy, while providing a model for other communities
to follow - utilizing innovative technologies.
The Lockwood Legends Initiative will host programming and events that encourage conversations from individuals of diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

Artist In-Residence Program
Our vision is to create a sustainable In-Residence Artist Initiative in the Lockwood community to foster civic engagement through intentional art of all forms.
Artists In Residence will live and collaborate on creative projects:
- Volunteerism & Civic Engagement
- Preservation of History
- Community Art Project
- Onsite Community Garden
- Technology and Innovation
